GreenSource, Green Chamber and GRAIN

Green Chamber, Whether your company is already green or interested in learning how to get there, the Green Chamber is for you! Our members include those offering green products and services as well as companies and individuals in other industries who are committed to operating more sustainably. We’ll help you network and develop partnerships with other members who can share solutions and best practices, connect you with important resources, and teach you the nuts and bolts about how to reduce waste, conserve energy, save water and prevent pollution — all with an eye on the bottom line.

GRAIN, or the Global Responsibility and Innovation Network, is the brainchild of a number of Calit2-affiliated graduate and post-graduate researchers. GRAIN President and co-founder  Shivani Singh says the goal of the independent non-profit is to create a GRAIN network — an online collaboration between academic, private and professional communities, as well as developing societies — to help improve the way those societies define their most challenging problems so they can cultivate their own solutions.

GreenSource facilitates the development of sustainability companies by applying industry best practices plus a unique facilitation process designed to identify powerful new market channels and aid in a company's growth. In addition to identifying funding sources, the strategy includes a focus on technology transfer and market channel development. This combination addresses the challenges of making technology available in the company’s primary market while capitalizing on the need for particular technologies in the greater environmental sustainability landscape.
